Description
Although modern pears have changed quite a bit since the Stone Age, the Wild European Pear [pyrus pyraster] is the precursor to our modern fruit and it ranged along the western seaboard of Europe. Its seeds are found at several sites from Neolithic Britain and it is mentioned in several Mediaeval texts.
Made with hand-picked [modern] pears, this is a sweet and fruity mead, which is light on the palate. It is uncomplicated and honest, giving pear and honey flavours without any fuss. It is ideal served chilled or with ginger ale and it goes well with chicken and seafood.
