Description
Crab apples have been a European food staple for over 10,000 years. The Rookery crab apples come from the hills around Perthshire, bulked out by apples from a tree I planted in my parents’ garden when I was 8. I always was a fore-sighted child!
Crab apple mead is a sweet, but tangy mead which has been seasoned by oak. The oak cuts into the light sweetness with a tannin bite.
